WEEHAWKEN — Some residents in an eight-block area of the township spent more than 24 hours without water, but service has been restored Sunday afternoon, Suez officials said. The water main break occurred on Park Avenue at 47th Street a little after 1 p.m. Saturday, officials said. Residents along Park Avenue from 45th Street and Cooper Place to 51st and Park Avenue either had low water pressure or no water. The city of Weehawken also tweeted that residents in Union City and West New York were likely affected as well. Early today Suez road crews located the break and made repairs, officials said. By noon they were testing the line and by 2 p.m., service was restored. #Weehaken Repairs are continuing on the broken main on Park Ave. Crews are currently in the process of testing the pipe and will work to restore service to residents. The tanker truck is still at 50th & Park to provide water.
